Touch is undeniably the strongest of my five senses. The Natural world constantly provides me with tactile inspiration. As an artist, designer, and maker texture is always the starting point. My interest in historic processes such as weaving, sewing, and natural dye are essential to my own artistic process as well as costume design work. I am passionate about using these art forms traditionally regarded as “women’s work” and proving its strong contemporary voice. I find strength in the needle like writers do with the pen.
